Matt Kenseth managed to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup in his final season with Roush Fenway Racing before moving on to the No. 20 at Joe Gibbs Racing for 2013 and beyond. Kenseth’s only win came in the Daytona 500, relegating him to eighth in points on the championship reset.
Kenseth clinched a wild-card spot at Bristol despite only coming home 25th, but ensured a top 10 spot at Atlanta by bringing his car home ninth. Despite holding the points lead from the first Pocono race through Loudon, Kenseth has been somewhat cold in the past 10 races, posting only a 14.5 average finish. His best finishes have been a third place at Daytona and a fifth to end the regular season at Richmond.
